Mark Pinder

With over 16 years of experience in commercial leadership—including eight years specialising in metal powders for additive manufacturing—Mark has developed an extensive professional network to support businesses in repurposing waste streams, sourcing used 3D printers and optimising their operations.

More recently, his expertise has expanded into advanced manufacturing, particularly through the sale of 3D printing machines. A hands-on and passionate advocate for business growth, Mark is known for his abstract thinking and ability to solve complex challenges.

By leveraging his deep industry knowledge and strategic mindset, Mark is assembling a unique team of fractional experts to help businesses navigate the complexities of additive manufacturing (AM). With a strong application-focused approach, this team enables companies to adopt AM technologies seamlessly, access specialist knowledge on demand, and drive innovation without the burden of full-time overheads.

Dominic Manterfield is a dynamic finance leader with a passion for driving business growth and capitalising on new opportunities. With nearly a decade of experience, he has a proven ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and translate strategic insights into actionable plans for leadership teams.

Specialising in strategic development and process improvement, Dominic delivers clear communication and innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and drive long-term success. His leadership approach ensures financial strategies are not only robust but also aligned with business objectives.

In addition to running his own business providing fractional financial support, Dominic contributes his expertise to clients working with fid3D, helping them optimise financial performance, manage risk, and scale effectively in an evolving market.

 

As fid3D’s numbers guru, he provides the analytical, impartial perspective needed to evaluate business cases with critical thinking and financial discipline, ensuring sound decision-making and strategic growth.

Andrew established his own business many years ago with the goal of helping companies adopt AM polymer technologies. Renowned as the go-to expert, he provides invaluable guidance on everything from cutting-edge advancements to the most practical choices in technology and materials.

Recognising Fig3D’s mission, Andrew saw a natural synergy and felt compelled to join forces, further supporting the wider adoption of AM.

His passion for 3D printing began over 32 years ago and continues to grow. After studying Art and Design at Wolverhampton University, he spent 15 years as a hands-on model maker before transitioning into Additive Manufacturing (AM) at Liverpool University’s PIDC, where he operated a 3D Systems SLA250—a machine he still owns today.

A highly respected thought leader in the AM community, Andrew has served on numerous steering committees and was formerly Vice President of AMUG. His contributions to the field have earned him prestigious recognition, including the esteemed DINO Award.

Driven by a deep passion for manufacturing and innovation, Andrew remains dedicated to advancing the industry and shaping its future.

Will Morris is a dynamic and experienced product designer and engineer, running his own successful business while also providing fractional support to Fig3D clients. Recognising the strong synergy between both companies, Will brings a wealth of expertise in design, manufacturing, and product development, making him a valuable addition to the team.

With a diverse skill set spanning opportunity exploration, concept design, CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion360, and more), design for manufacture, sustainability, usability, and cost-down development, Will enhances Fig3D’s ability to deliver high-quality solutions. His experience in technical drawings, prototyping, risk assessment, and client liaison further strengthens the team’s capabilities.

Beyond his hands-on technical expertise, Will also supports Fig3D with project planning, design reviews, mentorship, and training, broadening the company’s collective knowledge base. His ability to bridge industrial design, manufacturing, and strategic project development ensures clients gain access to an expansive skill set, making Fig3D an even stronger innovation partner.

With over 15 years of experience in additive manufacturing (AM), Fatos Derguti holds a Doctorate in Materials Engineering from Imperial College London. He has held pivotal leadership roles, including Head of R&D, Technical Director, and Global Chief Technology Officer, where he has driven the development and implementation of cutting-edge AM technologies.

 

Beyond AM, he possesses a wealth of expertise in research and development (R&D) and operations, enabling him to provide strategic guidance in operational strategy deployment on a fractional basis.​His passion extends beyond AM to encompass lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and supply chain optimisation.

 

With a keen eye for efficiency and continuous improvement, he has played a crucial role in designing and optimising manufacturing ecosystems, ensuring seamless integration of emerging technologies with robust operational strategies. As a respected thought leader, he is committed to driving the adoption of AM while championing lean principles to foster innovation, enhance productivity, and shape the future of advanced manufacturing.

Chris, a distinguished technology leader with a Master’s degree in AI (Distinction), specialises in developing bespoke software solutions powered by the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. With expertise spanning coding, electronics, firmware, app development, and networking, Chris has a proven track record of delivering complex development programs.

His deep understanding of market trends, coupled with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, makes him an invaluable asset to the team, supporting Fig3D’s mission to help businesses succeed at any stage.

With over 16 years of experience in the hospitality and food service industry, Catherine Thorpe has built a reputation for fostering strong relationships, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and leading high-performing teams. As a Deputy General Manager, she has overseen staff development, operational strategy, budgeting, and event planning while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Beyond her expertise in hospitality, Catherine offers fractional support in lead generation, administration, customer campaign management, dedicated project management, and cost reduction programs.
